Your guide - Jo Burzynska

With over a decade spent exploring the world of wine, dynamic wine author, journalist, judge and lecturer, Jo Burzynska is well equipped to lead her classes on their own Adventures in Wine.

All of Jo's professional life has been devoted to wine, her great passion. With a background in wine journalism that has seen her spend many years as an acclaimed wine writer and wine magazine editor, her CV also includes hands on experience in running a London wine shop and work for a winery here in New Zealand, plus all the highly respected Wine & Spirit Education Trust qualifications.

A great communicator, through her no nonsense approach to wine appreciation Jo makes her considerable wine knowledge accessible to anyone interested in this fascinating subject at all levels. Travel to most of the world's winegrowing regions has also allowed Jo to tread the soils from where many of the wines featured on her are grown and meet the people and who craft them - passing on the stories and the insights she has gained to enrich the experience of tasting these wines.

As well as running Adventures in Wine, Jo writes a weekly wine column for the New Zealand Herald's Viva magazine, as well as contributing to a number of other publications in New Zealand and abroad. She's the New Zealand wine columnist for Harpers magazine in the UK and a member of the prestigious Circle of Wine Writers. Jo is also an active wine judge, for international competitions such as the International Wine & Spirit Competition, as well as for shows within New Zealand.
